The home has been restored to its original Victorian style and visitors can learn about what life was like for the family at the beginning of the 19th century. Fort de la Martiniere Constructed in the early 1900s, Fort de la Martiniere, which was occupied by Artillery soldiers during both WWI and WWII, was originally built to protect the naval shipyard in Lauzon. The building currently houses an exhibition featuring local artists as well as information on both the fort's history and local history. A. C. Davie Building Site This national historic site was established in 1829 making it the oldest shipyard in the area. The Davies, a family of contractors, constructed wood ships at the site and introduced new shipbuilding techniques. Visitors to the site can learn the history of the family as well as the shipyard.
